The ICC women’s world cup has come and gone. Before the dust has settled on the rubbles of the successful tournament, India is eagerly working on setting up the premise for the next big championship coming up in April of 2013- Indian Premier League championship. The sixth edition of Indian Premier League games is set to take place from the third of the month of April. Each team will play two matches against eight other teams thus have played sixteen league matches, overall. The four teams that emerge as winners will automatically proceed to the knockout stages of the tournament. The IPL 6 schedule, which will see nine teams playing home and away games against each other, will start from 3rd April through 26th of May. The privilege of hosting the opening and closing ceremony will be given to the winners of last year’s Indian Premier League tournament- the Kolkata Knight Riders. They are also slated to play the opening match against the Delhi Daredevils at Eden Gardens. The grand final between the top two teams will take place of 26th of May in Kolkata itself. Leaving the responsibilities of entertainment to the players and the authorities, all that is expected of us is to kick back relax with snacks, preferable the Indian variations of coke and chips. To makes sure that the people remain glued to the TV sets during the matches, the sponsors are sparing no expense to pull in the big guns. The T20league broadcaster Max, in an effort to increase viewer participation in the IPL 6, has roped in Bollywood director, actor and leading choreographer- Farah Khan as part of its ad campaigns. Farah will be choreographing some neat and nifty dance moves for three short videos and an advertisement-film. Farah, who was the creative brain behind iconic moves of songs like ‘Munni Badnam Huey’, ‘Shelia ki Jawani’ and ‘chiggy wiggy’ is expected to be a sure fire hit with the audience. All the necessary components for an interesting campaign are already present; throw in a super star like Shah Rukh Khan, who is incidentally the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, in to the whole equation and you get fireworks. This season will expect Royal Challengers Bangalore to put up a better performance than what they did before. They will be playing their first game against Mumbai Indians on April 4th. According to IPL 6 news Virat Kohli is appointed as the captain of the Royal Challengers.
