PARIS – May 11, 2012: As part of a continuous drive to reduceits fleet carbon footprint and to deliver on-going financialsavings, Hewer Facilities Management Ltd (Hewer FM) has justspecified Euro 5 Berlingo vans as part of its latest fleetreplacement and fleet expansion programme. The Gloucester basedcompany has just taken delivery of 36 high specification BerlingoHDi 90 manual L1 Enterprise vans, which are finished in the latestversion of its striking black and red livery. Robert Willmott, Hewer FM's Contract Manager,explains;"We have had a long and successful operatingexperience with Berlingo vans, which now form the majority of our65-strong fleet. As an environmentally conscious company, everyfleet renewal time we carry out a comprehensive review to seewhether there is a van that can beat the Berlingo. To date we havecontinued to acquire Berlingos because of their unbeatablecombination of environmental, operational, financial and driverbenefits. These latest Euro 5 Berlingos are nearly 10% more fuelefficient than the Euro 4 versions they replace and their CO2emissions are 13g/km lower." Mr Willmott adds; "Berlingos also provide us with other costsavings and productivity benefits, as they are running on 30 percent biodiesel fuel. Also, the standard fit Trafficmaster Smartnavsatellite navigation system and Trackstar stolen vehicle trackingmeans we have achieved additional cost savings and lower insurancepremiums." Supplied by Citro Business Centre, Warners Citro of Cheltenham,Hewer FM has acquired its latest Berlingo vans on a mix of outrightpurchase and three-year, 60,000 mile Arval contract hire withmaintenance agreements. In addition to the BerlingoEnterprise's high level of standard equipment - whichincludes air conditioning, Bluetooth, reverse park sensors and adual passenger seat - these vans have been fitted with a full steelbulkhead, polypropylene load compartment lining, non-slip compositeflooring and roof bars. Hewer FM has also specified specificallydesigned racking to meet the requirements of the company'sengineers. Hewer FM is involved in heating and electrical projects forbusinesses, local authorities and health services, as well asdomestic customers within a 100 mile radius of its base. The newBerlingos are being used by its engineers to support theseoperations and its wide ranging and long-established facilitiesmanagement activities. The company is also continuing to grow its Failsafe domesticheating care plan, which has gained over 1,000 customers sincelaunch. A new renewable energy operation has gained approval to theMicrogeneration Certification Scheme, which allows it to design andinstall various renewable energy technologies. "Just like the Citro Berlingos we have replaced, we expectthese new Euro 5 Berlingos to deliver on our key environmental,economical and operational requirements.
