Parental abuse is a kind of domestic abuse. It can lead to depression, damage of property, loss of job and breakdown of families. It is usually started by a child during the teens. Some of the most common behavior that can lead to abuse are as follows:

Under the Protection from Abuse Act, abuse may be defined as a threat the leads to fear in an individual for injury or harm or a pattern of behavior that causes fear in an individual. An individual must have been subjected to abuse in order to request for a PFA. How can a child with a mental illness be stopped from abusing his/her parents?
The parents may file a Mental Hydene Warrant against the child. If the warrant is granted, the child will be shifted to a state facility for mentally ill people. The parent can get any help they need in that period of time. The parents may also be able to file a restraining order or a notice of eviction against the child. The child will have to be removed from the house within a period of 30 days if it is granted. What can a step parent do if he/she is being verbally abused by the step-child?
The parent may sign over the guardianship of the child to someone else and include the child in a program for abusive juveniles. The parent can also put the child in a military academy. The parent can also request the family court for a restraining order against the child if they fear for their safety. In such a situation, the court may take custody of the child. The child may also be placed in juvenile detention if the child is a threat to the parent’s safety. Will it be considered verbal abuse if the parent turns his/her children against the grandparents by verbally abusing the grandparents?
Such a case, most of the times will be considered both mental abuse of the children and parental abuse. The grandparents can petition the court to grant visitation rights to meet the grandchildren. Sometimes, they may need to hire a lawyer to petition for visitation rights. Many times parental abuse is referred to as silent suffering.
