Samuel was a very active child, and once, while showing off for his brothers and sisters, he fell off of a cinder block and ended up breaking his two front teeth. He screamed in horror as blood gushed from his mouth, and his mother came running when she heard his cries. She took him to the emergency room for fear that he was hurt far worse, but to her relief, she was told that while he had broken his teeth, the nerves appeared to be covered and intact, and that there was nothing else wrong with him. She was told that in the morning, she should schedule an appointment with his dentist to see what could be done about fixing the teeth, but for now, just to keep him calm. She took him home and gave him an analgesic to help calm him down. He watched television for a while before finally calming down enough to fall asleep on the couch. In The Morning When she called to make the appointment the next morning, she was told that while they were booked, the circumstances warranted an immediate scheduling, and so she was able to take Samuel in right away. The dentist listened as they explained what had happened, and the examination began. Both of the front teeth were broken, and the pieces that were lost could not be found. Samuel would need to be fitted with caps for the teeth, which once he was used to, would not feel too different from his normal teeth. Both mother and son were relieved that the damage was not worse, and they scheduled an appointment for the caps to be put in place. The dentist was very kind, and it was not long before Samuel was actively doing dangerous things to impress his brothers and sisters again.
