Nine next generation military technologies to change the future

Science & Technology
The warfare with the today’s technological revolution doesn’t just mean night goggles, ultra-lightweight uniforms and super-programmed weaponry. In fact, it is beyond the limit of so-called drones in the form of unmanned aerial vehicles. If you go a decade ago in the part of military blueprints, you will find about half of the fleet of US Air force is made up with drones. And these next-gen drones are made with the eye-catching powerful equipments and weapons to protect the soldiers on the battleground and on the secret missions and to help make mission successful with less possible risks of their lives.

Military technologies of the next generation The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is now working with military contractors and other military equipments manufacturing companies to develop these nine innovative military technologies and other military parts. In this way, they are going to change the look of warfare. 1.Robot Mules: Boston Dynamics in Massachusetts, associated with DARPA, successfully developed an agile robotic mule. One day will surely come when robot will complete all military missions on the battlefield. When it comes to the matter of robotics navigation, this four-legged robot will run in the field with heavy backpacks in order to reduce the effort of soldiers. This smart robot can divot in the field with negotiating rocks. This autonomous robot can follow the troops and keep the supplies and forays along with ammunition and food items. The robot is surprisingly silent with the refinements and this is really very helpful in secret missions. The future robotic mules will also be able to understand the visual and verbal instructions.

2.Meshworm: This tiniest robot of fingertip size can crawl and acts just like an earthworm. It uses artificial muscles to propel itself inch after inch and it mimics the movements of earthworm. It stretches one part of the body ahead by itself and then it pulls the rest of its body behind itself. It records and sends data regarding temperature of the particular space by moving in the tiniest places calmly. The future mesh-worm can also do voice recording or perhaps video recording too. Since it is made up of synthetic fiber, this is almost indestructible by any impact like hitting with hammer or even moving over it. Meshworms were developed in Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University and Seoul National University in South Korea under the consent of DARPA.

3.Microwave Ray Gun: This weapon can inject microwaves directly into the skull, not the ears because earplugs are protective. You can shoot away from the couple of hundred yards. You can adjust different types of sounds of microwave. These guns are under development for Special Forces, army, and rifle versions for marines. The earlier versions have been tested in the field of Afghanistan and Iraq. The police can also use these ‘sound guns’ to control the crowd.

4.Live-fire trainers: With the help of specific robotic controlled transport equipments, the soldiers will gain marksman training and live-fire training in the near future. Marathon Targets of Sydney have adapted specially-armored Segways, also called “small targets”. With the unexpected turns, sprints and stops, they can move as a real and living target. These lifelike dummies are made up of with hardened plastic in order to look just like uniformed assassins, terrorists and evils. These lifelike fire combats are small targets as compared to traditional wooden pieces used centuries ago.

5.Space-based laser: The concept of militarization in space is under development. Nevertheless, some future weapons can also work in space. The deployment of space-based laser weapons would definitely come into existence. According to some space scientists, these space-based laser weapons could send a devastating laser beam to destruct thousands of miles in the enemy’s area. This weapon will be used to protect US satellites from attacks in orbit.

6.Bipedal robots: These robots are developed in PAL Robotics in Barcelona, Spain, can identify people, avoid barriers and enter into the buildings in order to pick objects with their hands. They can receive verbal instructions with their voice recognition systems. These robots are highly useful for military envisions because they can enter into the buildings of danger zones and can bring medical help in emergencies to treat wounded soldiers. The consumer versions of these robots will also come to serve drinks and snacks in trade shows, parties and in restaurants.

7.Mimicry robots: These robots can surprisingly wear protective uniform and help soldiers in hazardous situations in order to stimulate their stress. These robots can walk, crawl and do anything that a soldier has to do in the battlefield. The future robots can even climb the stairs which are going to launch by 2015.

8.Flybot: This tiny robotic bug is designed by keeping look and size of a tiny lightning bug in mind. This tiny robot can easily be sent to secret missions and the areas which are dangerous to soldiers. And they can also fly on the areas contaminated by radiation or chemical. You can control it with a remote and it weights lesser than a pin. This is very helpful to find chemical bombs hidden in certain places, as per the engineers of Harvard University. The future Flybots will be charged with solar energy.

9.Super Drone: The modern drones are said to be the power of current warfare. Now, it’s time to think about unmanned aerial drones. These ultra-high speed surveillance drones can fly at the speed of 4000 miles per hour and at the altitude of 100,000 feet higher than intercontinental range. This super drone is expected to come by 2020 and currently under development from the Pentagon.

Conclusion These nine are fabulous military technology to change the future and face of current warfare and these will amazingly rock the world. These technologies are so essential that military can’t live without. With these advanced military weapons and devices, the superpowers will become more powerful. With these technologies, the soldiers can become more efficient and secured in the war field.
