First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc on Tuesday in Lagos announced free issuance of its new range of Naira Visa Cards to customers. The FCMB Visa Cards, which are available in debit, credit and prepaid variants, are Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) compliant and come with enhanced security features in line with global card industry standard chip technology. Speaking at the introduction of the Cards, FCMB’s Divisional Head, Retail Banking, Mr. Shiba Ghosh said, “We are excited to be introducing these internationally acceptable VISA Naira denominated Cards which come in three variants and provide our customers the convenience to transact anywhere in the world”. Cardholders stand to enjoy various benefits such as discounts on purchases at certain merchant locations, secure online functionality with Verified by Visa (VbV), which is a second level authentication service that reduces the risk of making online transactions. The Cards can be used worldwide on Point of Sale terminals, over one million ATMs and 29 million merchant locations, thus fulfilling cardholders’ electronic payment, purchasing and withdrawal needs. Shiba added that, “we are delighted to be partnering with Visa, which is a globally acknowledged brand in electronic payment systems.
