Posted: May 18th, 2012 Three-quarters of UAlbany NanoCollege graduates to remain in NewYork for nanotechnology career and educational opportunities ( Nanowerk News ) Graduates of the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany are once again proving to be animportant resource for New York's fast-growing nanotechnologysector, with three of every four students remaining in the state topursue exciting opportunities in industry and academia. "We are so pleased to congratulate the graduating class of theCollege of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, an extraordinarygroup that is well on their way to becoming our nation's nextgeneration of scientific and technological leaders, and each ofwhom represent the power of a world-class SUNY education," saidSUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Seventeen CNSE students will receive degrees during commencementceremonies to be held on Saturday, May 19. Eleven will be awardedPh.D.'s and 6 will receive Master's degrees, with bodies of workthat cover each of CNSE's four constellations: Nanoscience,Nanoengineering, Nanobioscience and Nanoeconomics. CNSE graduates have accepted research and engineering positionswith a host of global high-tech leaders, including IBM, Intel,GlobalFoundries, Lam Research and Northrup Grumman, among others.In addition, one student has accepted a post-doc position with theDepartment of Vascular Surgery at Harvard Medical School, andseveral Master's degree graduates have enrolled in CNSE's Ph.D.program.
