My Sunday School Bible Reading for the week of May 5, 2013 is coming from the Books of Job, Psalm/Tehillim, Lamentations, and I Peter. The book of Job seems written to point out that such suffering is often permitted as a test of faith and a means of grace. Job was a non-Israelite, a dweller in the land of Uz (probably near Edom, on the east or northeast), a man of wealth and exemplary piety.
