I've been playing game improvement irons for years now, going more recently from Taylormade R9's, to Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons, then to Taylormade Rocketbladez irons, and while all of them worked well, I never have been a huge fan of the look and feel of game improvement irons. The Titleist MB 712 irons are essentially a forged set of blades, suitable for the more advanced golfer. Warning, these clubs aren’t for the feint-hearted, as with all blades they are built specifically for low handicap golfers who look for more control from their clubs. So, safe to say that these clubs weren’t built for the likes of us at Golf ISC! A thin, but soft top-line and rounder profile create a traditional but contemporary look, whilst a minimal progressive offset improves the set-up appeareance and improves control. Known as the "dog bone", the faceted surface on the back of the 712 MB clubheads is larger in the heel and toe, adding more mass behind the impact area for the traditional feel expected from a blade iron. Compared to the previous version the Titleist MB 712 irons for sale have a nicer satin finish that looks a little more contemporary than the previous polished chrome look. The tweaks to the sole design and the heel and trailing edge reliefs do make this a lovely iron to hit, especially from tight lies. It also enables a little more mass to go into the muscle back behind the face for a more solid feel. I love these irons! While it's true you do lose (or at least I did) about 5-10 yards compared to cavity back style irons, the feel of these things are incredible. I'm a 3 handicap so I have no problems getting the ball in the air, and every shot I hit today with these irons was a laser beam to where I aimed. I normally hit a fade, with these I was hitting straight as an arrow at the pins. It was crazy. I even hit the 3 iron off the tee on a par 4 on a hole, and even IT went straight as an arrow with a beautiful sound and an amazing ball flight and feel. Overall this is an excellent elite players blade iron but probably a little too demanding for virtually all amateurs, who would be better going for the Titleist CB 712 irons which are a little more forgiving with similar Tour level performance.
