Clients love to receive e-cards from companies they've done business with. It shows that their patronage was important to the company and it's always a nice surprise for them to receive. It's also beneficial to the business, as it helps to secure client relationships – but have you ever considered that they're also a great marketing tool? When you send out electronic greeting cards and you've got a clientele base of several hundred or more, you're killing two birds with one stone. The main thing that makes e-cards so powerful for marketing is the fact that they're sent via e-mail, but they don't give the recipient the feeling that they're being spammed. Think about your spam folder – how many e-mails are in there from companies who are just trying to tell you what's on sale, or reminding you to use their product for the upcoming holiday? Because they're just a friendly greeting and not a deliberate advertisement, you're more likely to get your recipient's attention while still getting your company's name, logo, and message seen. Think about it. Even if you're just sending out corporate holiday ecards around Christmas or New Years, you're sending a friendly greeting, but it's also a great opportunity to promote your products or services. Dentist's offices can use them to thank patients for coming in this past year while also reminding them to get their teeth cleaned. Car dealerships can send cards that feature a new model of vehicle or gently remind customers that they provide oil change services. They don't have to be used just for holidays, though. You can send out an e-card to let your clients know that you're having an event and invite them to attend, or to show that your company is hiring. No matter what reason you have for getting in touch with your clients in a friendly electronic way, you wouldn't want to send out a card that didn't feature your company's name, logo, and/or slogan. Whenever a client, whether it be a prospect or a current client you wish to further business with, is exposed to your company's branding, you continue to reinforce their associations with your business. They'll remember your company's name and associate it with the pleasant greeting they got, giving your brand personality. Showing your customers that you're communicative with them and that your customer care team is friendly is one of the most important aspects of marketing. Through e-cards, it's subtle, but it's effective.
