Even making small changes to your diet will reap rewards. You will learn to make better choices as you go, so start small and work your way up. We will show you how your diet is affected by what you eat as well as how much of it and at what time.

Be advised that while this is a good thing, there will be times that you want to give up. Everyone has weaknesses, and that's especially true when it comes to junk food.

You can feel defeated even before you start trying to eat healthier. Choosing some foods as rewards for eating well can go a long way in helping your new diet. This will help you still have some foods you really enjoy while still eating healthier than you did before. Cutting back in some areas can be a good thing since you will still get to enjoy the foods you love. Some consider skipping meals a good thing because they are taking in smaller portions of calories. Ordinarily, when you skip a meal, you will be most apt to overeat at your next meal. If you have to skip a meal, make sure it is not breakfast; this meal energizes your body which enables you to perform your day and allows you the time to work off some of those calories. Drink green tea or plain coffee instead of lattes and other fancy drinks full of high calorie extras. Eat dried fruits and nuts instead of chips or pretzels from a vending machine.

Healthy foods are everywhere in your grocery stores now, so start taking advantage of them. It's easy to see that the bad foods became comfortable, but healthy foods can do the same. Learning to make better choices will be hard, but it will lead to better health.
