Thermal Imaging – A Preventative Measure Despite the fact that most homeowners really only use thermal imaging when they suspect a problem, this type of leak detection is still considered a preventative measure because it is a key step in preventing further roof damage. In addition to leaks, experienced roofing contractors are able to use thermal imaging to find spaces where air is entering the home and areas where air is not circulating properly. Many roofing systems require an attic fan or a form of roof ventilation. When sealed properly the roofing system allows the air to travel in ways that promote maximum cooling effects during the summer and warming effects during the winter.
