Toyota Corolla for Teenagers: Why Not?

Business,Automotive
A Toyota Corolla for teenagers? The teens in question might find this an absurd and boring choice for a first car, but as a parent you know you have the final say. Safety is your primary concern, and when it comes to safety, a sedan beats SUVs by a mile and a half. SUVs have a high center of gravity and are easily unbalanced, making them prone to rolling over in the event of a collision. In addition, SUVs guzzle up fuel like there’s no tomorrow, which would no doubt lead to your teen asking you for more gas money. Not good.

Experts and parents would advise you to get a sturdy sedan, one that has been given high ratings when it comes to stability, affordability, and of course, safety. The Corolla is one of the best candidates in this regard. Already very affordable brand new, pre-owned Corollas perform just as well and at a much lower price too. Besides, practicing driving is better using a car that has probably done most of the maneuvers, and your teen doesn’t get too conscious about making a dent. The Corolla has a low-cost, hassle-free maintenance regimen (just the basic oil change and inspection, really). It is built to last, so trips to the mechanic are rare. Original parts are also easy to come by, just in case. And because it doesn’t use up too much fuel, you can be sure that your teen’s gas allowance is enough. Trust me, a Toyota Corolla for teenagers is preferable than an SUV in the fuel economy department.

If only parents could put pillows and warning signs all over their teenagers’ cars, they would, just to make sure their kids are always safe. Teens who have just only learned how to drive on their own are still inexperienced, and may be extra nervous when driving on busy roads. The Corolla is a car that makes sure its passengers are always safe. The latest Corolla generation is equipped with advanced safety features such as an improved brake system and Active Braking with intelligence. The vehicle body itself has been designed to absorb impact; the front, side, and rear areas have an impact-absorbing structure. For this the Corolla has been given the highest rating as a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety, or IIHS. Indeed, a Toyota Corolla for teenagers is a good decision.

Reliability-wise, I have yet to meet a Corolla owner who is genuinely dissatisfied with how his car runs—all are in praise of the humble sedan. You can definitely trust the Toyota Corolla not to leave your teen stranded somewhere—like a deserted road or a dark roadway—because of engine trouble. It’s so solidly built that eighty percent of all Corolla units sold in the last decade are still driving around today in all parts of the world. If you want some peace of mind bundled with a car for your teen, the Corolla can give it to you.

It may not be your son’s or daughter’s idea of a flashy ride, but as a parent you have it in your power to stress on the importance of safety and reliability above all else. A Toyota Corolla for teenagers is definitely recommended.
