Engage Potential Customers With a Flash 3D Box or Flash 3D Book

A Flash 3D Box or Flash 3D Book is a terrific way to engage potential customers, and keep them interested in your website. The internet is a fantastic facility as far as being a marketplace is concerned. With very few overheads, and a potential market that extends to the whole globe at no extra cost, it is of little surprise that it has grown to be so popular with sellers. The drawback, however, is that the goods are still represented virtually, unless, of course, you're one of the people who has discovered the benefits of introducing a Flash 3D box or a Flash 3D book to your website.

Because most web pages are static, two dimensional ways of demonstrating goods to potential customers, there is a natural barrier which prevents many customers from feeling comfortable with making a purchase on the internet. Goods often appear very flat, and unrealistic, and it is easy for many customers to see them as being unrepresentative of the actual items. What may sound appealing may not always be seen as such by a customer who is left looking only at a few paragraphs of descriptive text, and a photograph if they're lucky.

Television advertising works better because the customer is able to see the product for real, or at least, they suspend disbelief and imagine that they can see the image for real. In truth they are either looking at a computer generated version of the product, or at best, a two dimensional broadcast of the real thing. But somehow, being able to imagine the product in three dimensions, as it really would look, makes it more real in people's minds, and this is where a Flash 3D box could make all the difference from a psychological point of view. As we know, advertising and marketing is almost all about psychology.

Of course, the more real an item is because it is displayed in 3D, the more accessible it is to a customer, and so a stronger connection or association is made, which is far more likely to lead to a sale. For example, if you are selling a book, then the customer expects to be able to see the book, look at the cover, turn it over and see what's written or included on the back even check out how thick the book is is it a thin paperback or a large, thick tome that will occupy a good many nights reading? Simply showing a flat scanned image of the cover is not going to appeal to a customer's full interest, unless they've already previously committed to buying the book and you just happen to be the first place they found it.

In this case, including a Flash 3D book will allow you to show the customer the book almost as though they were holding it. The 3D book will be able to be rotated, turned over and examined from any angle. This allows the customer to explore the book, get a feel for it, make a connection and, one would hope, place an order. These Flash 3D images are very easy to create. Once you have inserted the Flash element in your web page, all that is necessary is to include the scanned images of the book's covers and save them into a folder, and Flash will take these images and reconstruct them into a virtual 3D book.

On the other hand, if you are selling software, then the customer may well imagine a file that can simply be downloaded fairly unexciting at best, and of course there's always the concern that the software may not download, or may not even exist. Expensive and reputable software found in high street shops usually comes in a box, and customers can handle this box and examine it fully. Even if the software takes up a single CD, usually a large box is included, simply because it makes the product look better value for money.

The same is true for a website selling software. Using a Flash 3D box to display software in a form which is virtually real, simulated 3D and fully examinable by the customer creates the impression not only that the software really does exist, but also that it is professionally produced, reputable and better value for money. It doesn't even matter if the software doesn't come in a box, or even if it's simply a file that the customer will download themselves it's all about giving the right impression.

Certainly nothing could be easier than including either a Flash 3D book or a Flash 3D box in a web page, since all they have to do is to either scan or draw the covers, and then save these images in a place that Flash can find. But it has been proven many times over that creating a 3D, virtual version of a product for a customer to explore leads to a far greater conversion of visits to sales.
