The South African school, St Vincent's School for the deaf has invested in a new style PA system for its classrooms and main gathering areas. Instead of a normal PA system, the school has installed and distributed LED sign system controlled through a TCP/IP addressing system which has allowed a sign to be placed into each classroom where messages can be sent to. It also replaces the school bell, in that automatic messages are flighted at the relevant times to inform the students and teachers that the various periods have ended. The LED screens and LED signs have made a huge impact.
