I have come across so many people complaining about their current situation however when shown a way out the following always seems to come up. IT’S TOO HARD - What is to hard, trying to change your way of life or keep living in the position you are now. This is something we deal with often, after the initial start up period when all your energy and focus is applied to the new venture, a stumbling block, or period of stagnation hits. Then I hear, IT”s to HARD. No it is just the situation, if you have done it before, see clients, promote your business, deal with the bank, what ever it is you can do it again. KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE GOAL. When you get into this situation focus on why you started this journey in the first place, and the situation you were in vs where you want to be should be enough motivation to get going again. I dont have time to build a business part-time - Then don’t complain about your situation. If you are not prepared to put in an extra effort, no one will do it for you. I WANT TO INCREASE MY INCOME BUT I DON’T WANT TO SELL ANYTHING - Well tough, we sell all the time, wether it is selling yourself for a job offer, your skills daily to your boss, your balance sheet to the bank for a loan, or products to clients, we are always selling. We are always selling, the problem is that people believe if they have a great idea, product or concept people will come. Unfortunately that is just not true. What ever business you are going into you will need to learn the skills associated with selling, please dont confuse this with cold calling and hard selling of unwanted products. What I am talking about here is opening the door to speak to people about your product, putting the concept forward to them and then allowing them to chose, not trying to force it down there throats. Another misunderstanding about selling is that if the person says no, it means you have failed, WRONG, it just means that person was not interested. Don’t take it personally. What is very important is that you get educated is this art form and if possible work with people who can support you through the start up period. Time to change your future
