Going to the hearing center has become a part of our life. The first time Michael's pediatrician suggested we see a specialist we were a bit surprised. I didn't think that a couple of infections were anything to worry about. However, with kids it is always better to be safe than sorry. The service we got was so good that regular check-ups in their office have become part of our routine. We first found out about the hearing center from Mike's primary doctor. After looking at his ears he felt that it was worth having an expert make sure that the inflammation was nothing to be alarmed about. A friendly and supportive staff that not only put Michael at ease, but they put me at ease as well. They assured us that there was probably nothing to worry about, and if there were they'd be able to diagnose it and treat it without any major ordeal. The preliminary exam found no major problems but since he was routinely getting ear infections they insisted on seeing us again. In fact, they recommended that the next time his ears flared up; that they see him then so that they could document what it looked like. A few months later when Michael started complaining about earaches, I took him to the hearing center. They fit us in their schedule right away, and were able to take photos and write a detailed description of the problem so that it was in his file. They prescribed a medicine that helped ease his pain immediately, and shortly thereafter kill off the infection. What was most important was that they gave us a couple of pointers on how to keep his ears clean and try to avoid future problems. We decided to continue going to the clinic once a year just to continually monitor his ears. We probably do not need to go anymore since he has not had an infection in the last couple of years. However, when Mike's friend Jeremy had a problem, the hearing center came up. Jeremy had been running around in the woods with friends when a gun discharged very near his ear. He was not noticeably harmed, but had complained of headaches and loud noises began bothering him. His parents were very concerned but didn't know where to go. We told them about the hearing center. Once there, they were able to get quick, professional, and a straight forward feel for how the incident impacted his ears, and what options they had to make sure Jeremy wouldn't suffer further consequences. His parents were grateful that we knew where to recommend. A lot of doctor's offices are qualified and capable. We were lucky to find one that was also compassionate, local, and helpful. We'll continue to stop by every year because the health of our son is more important than anything. Looking for a Northern New Jersey hearing center?
