There is one very curious and interesting aspect about how to burn fat and not muscle, and it involves how the body responds to certain things. For example, a few people believe that eliminating all of their fat intake is needed, so they just eat fat free foods. All of a sudden the amount of fat they eat drops.

Your body will attempt to hoard fat if you take this approach though. Your body will work hard to keep all of the fat on your body, but this isn't what we're trying to do. Your body must get a minimum amount of fat from your diet each day, so reducing your intake slightly to a sensible level without being too extreme is good. Below are a few more very helpful tips for burning off fat and not muscle.

Those who are really wanting to lose some fat can do one of the best proven exercise techniques of interval training. There are quite a few ways of doing this with a number of exercises. For example, you can use a regular or stationary bike, a treadmill or jumping rope just to name a few popular ones. You can, and will burn fat by doing some cardiovascular exercises like long distance running. If you wish to approach this in a way that's effective then you shouldn't go down the road of long distance running. Here we're making a distinction with the 'most effective' method of losing fat. There are lots of reasons as to why you should drink water throughout the day. Don't overdo it with the water consumption, but you should aim for around eight pints of water per day. You'll feel more full up as a result of this, so it can help aid fat loss. The intention behind doing this is to simply try and not drink or snack on foods that contain more fats and calories. Also, maintaining the proper levels of hydration will enable you to have the right energy levels. Try consuming drinks containing lots of water instead of caffeine and then keep an eye on how much energy you have. Your productivity in exercise will be better if you've got more energy.

If you are knowledgeable about dietary matters, then you may know to avoid too many carbohydrates of the complex type. But if not, then you need to know that eating too many will produce a surplus in your body which becomes fat. It is fine to eat them on a regular basis, because you do need them, but avoid over-eating them in one meal. So to lose weight you must keep protein and fat intake at a good level, but lower the starchy foods. You'll get some excellent results by doing this in conjunction with regular exercise.
