Gulf Air to Expand India Operations

Gulf Air, the nation's carrier of the Dominion of Bahrain, wants to double its flights to India following seriously successful bilateral agreement between top aviation officers of Bahrain and India. The accord between Bahrain's civil aviation affairs and their Indian opposite number gives Gulf Air operating claims to Hyderabad on an everyday basis. It also grants the airline extra rights for daily services to Kochi and Kolkata. The accord which was concluded after two-day dialogues between the civil aviation authorities from India and Bahrain. The Indian civil aviation delegation was controlled by Mr. R.K. Singh, joint secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and assistant secretary Administration of India, Mr. M.S. Chopra together with the civil aviation director for Regulation and Info Mr. K.P. Maggon and other senior officers from Indian aviation. The Dominion of Bahrain was controlled by the undersecretary for civil aviation affairs, Capt. Abdulrahman Al Gaoud. "This bilateral aviation agreement is a tribute to the longstanding robust relations between Bahrain and India and this can further bolster our symbiotic relations." declared Bahrain civil aviations affairs undersecretary Capt. Abdulrahman Al Gaoud, who led the Bahrain delegation to the top-level talks in Delhi. Gulf Air's president and Boss Mr. Naf, who is on his first trip to India, hailed the accord as a significant and important development for the airline, which is the only state carrier of Bahrain. "The success of this swift bilateral aviation agreement between the dominion of Bahrain and India presents a rare chance for the 2 nations to further increase their commercial and cultural development." "Being the 1st Middle East carrier to operate to India, Gulf Air considers this as a symbol of appreciation of its long-term dedication to serve India. And as an element of our attempts to be the airline of preference we are taking a look at the speedily growing India market as one of our stepping stones to success," asserts Mr. Naf. He added that Gulf Air has forcibly started on its growth plans with the current statement of the Boeing 787 order costed at almost US$ six bln in list costs. Commenting on Gulf Air's growth in the country, Mr. Rajeev Nambiar, managing director of Gulf Air, India, said that he was happy with the result of the top level talks.
