They carry out tests to assess the presence. nature and extent of a hearing loss, using complex and advanced techniques. They take aural impressions for individual moulded ear inserts, fit and instruct the patients on how to use their hearing aids and review their progress. Qualifications and Training Four GCSFs of at least C grade or their equivalents are needed in English, mathematics, physics and another science. Training involves two years of combined theory and practice while in employment, leading to a BTEC qualification in medical physics and physiological measurement or NVO equivalent.
