Our arduous daily schedules do not give us the time to indulge in some quiet moments of introspection. Silence is golden and helps us in connecting to our inner self. In this world that believes in cut throat competition, meditation can do wonders to our physical and mental health. It soothes our mind and eliminates all the negativity from our life. In the world of network marketing, Mr Joseph Bismark, Group Managing Director of the QI Group of Companies has highlighted the benefits of meditation through various initiatives. His profound knowledge rises from the fact that he began practicing meditation at a very young age. He has conducted many sessions and created awareness. April 13, 2013 is a special date as a special meditation session was organised for 20 workers, who had been subjected to abuse in their lives. Beneficiaries from Burma, Philippines and Indonesia were present, too. This event was a result of the joint effort of The QI Group (parent company of QNET) and United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Singapore. It was a special way to celebrate International Women’s Day. Such meetings are a need of the hour. People need to be in touch with their inner self and maintain the spiritual connection. Most of the individuals do not connect with their inner being and are not aware about their real purpose. They do not embark on the spiritual journey. Mr Joseph Bismark began the session by explaining the importance of being aware of our real self. He taught them Mantra and Silent Meditation. He says, “Meditation falls right alongside our journey to self-awareness as it is through it that we achieve internal calmness. Mantra meditation is a process or practice of drawing the mind from material thoughts and converting that to spiritual thoughts.” In the present day, we achieve our materialistic goals but forget about our spiritual aims. Mr Joseph Bismark says “We are not identified by the clothes we wear, our name or where we come from. Rather, we are spirit souls and understanding that is the beginning of the journey to true happiness.” The participants in this session were women, who were subjugated to some form of abuse. Itwas an enlightening gathering.The idea is that in spite of troubles and difficult circumstances, the path to peace and freedom is to understand the truth about the soul. This was put forth in an effective way. When the session came to an end, the participants were all smiles. They were feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This is evident with the pictures that have been shared by this company on its blog. Positive testimonials were posted, too. One of the ladies said, “Thank you for sharing your gift with others. Ever since I started doing Yoga and Pranayama, close to Meditation, I feel the benefits, in everything that I do.A strength I have attained is the ability to walk away from things that hinder my personal growth, and to be the best I can be.”
