Nigeria is a country that features in many articles, due to its huge population, its oil reserves and its growing wealth. Its agricultural potential is largely untapped. Despite that fact that it is the fourth largest producer of cocoa in the world, the opportunity to be the largest is relative easy considering the soil types, land availability and labor availability. The Nigeria government is committed to gaining first position and has plans to reach 1,000,000 tons by 2018. A successful implementation of this plan will have a significant impact on employment in the country as the cocoa industry doubles its production over the next 5 years. Speaking at a meeting in Lagos, Nigeria, the Managing Director of AgJobsToday, Ms. Kelli Moulton was particularly excited about the agricultural opportunities in the region.
