I stumbled upon a very interesting site today. I won't divulge the URL, but it was quite funny. Basically, the site was poking fun of sales copy. It went through all the different parts of the sales letter and poked holes in each part. As a seasoned marketer, as well as a copywriter, I could certainly see the point of the creator of this site. It did get me to ask the question, "Is your marketing immune to your tactics?" This article is my attempt at answering what is honestly a very difficult question to answer. If you are writing copy for the "make money online" niche, you will no doubt attract a lot of people who are seasoned marketers and know all the tricks of the trade. They understand that your headline has to be knock 'em out of the ballpark. They understand the power of the time sensitive offer. They understand the importance of testimonials to distract the prospect from the actual content of the sales letter. But they're not really influenced by all this because they're immune to it. So then what sells them, if anything at all? Well, what it comes down to is the offer itself. When all is said and done, if what you're selling is something that they want, then the copy is just going to be the facilitator to pushing them over that fine line from prospect to buyer. Yes, the copy still has to be well written and include enough information for the prospect to make an informed decision. And yes, you still have to show the prospect how this product will make their life better. But ultimately, it's the product that will sell itself in these cases. But what about the rest of the world? You need to understand that not everybody knows marketing. What are tactics to you and me are simply words to the prospect, especially when you're dealing with non Internet marketing niches. For example, a person who is looking for a cheat guide to some great video game will be totally engrossed by phrases like, "Get the inside secrets to (insert game name). " That's what they're looking for. They're not reading your sales letter as a tactic. Again, these people are not marketers. So the answer to the question is, it depends on who your market is. Once you understand that, you can begin to write effective copy directed TO that market. It's really THAT simple. To YOUR Success, buy custom economics assignment essay
