PREABLE The Gulf of California i.e. Sea of Cortez in the Mexican State 190 kms, South of the Mexican city there is a Town known as San Felipe? The bay of San Felipe is 3 meters above sea level. At low tide the water level recedes to about 2kms,it is famous for the largest tidal bores in the World. The Port of San Felipe mostly depends on the fishing, formerly now for Catering, Tourism often Travelers of U.S.A. 7 established International Airport. Due to the refugee coming for their survival & source of income the census index raised. These are Canadians & U.S. part time residents after the retirement.

HISTORY; ORIGIN The baja california real estate Peninsula was discovered by Harnan Cortes on 3 rd May 1535. Domingo Castilloed & Hernando de Alarcón first detailed map of the peninsula & giving San Felipe its original name, Santa Catalina Father Eusebio Kino rediscovered the Baja California peninsula in 1701. Juan de Ugarte later built the first ship in Baja California explored the area on July 5, 1721. On July 5, 1721, Twenty-five years later Father Ferdinand Konšcak arrived and christened the bay San Felipe de Jesús. In 1766, Wenceslaus Linckwas the first person to reach San Felipe in 1772 the Lt. Governor of the Californias, José Joaquín de Arrillaga began to use it as a port from 1794. He also established the land route between San Felipe and Ensenada through Valle de la Trinidad.

Fishing camps were established during administration from 1926 to 1942l government organized the first sub-delegation and school. Octavio Vega Ruiz was appointed sub-delegate and the basis for the growth and development of San Felipe.

DEVELOPMENT The sea transportation of both people and cargo also contributed to the integration of San Felipe as a township. Among the most celebrated ships at the end of the 1920 San Felipe gained 100 permanent inhabitants, and in 1940 appeared for the first time in the census with 287 inhabitants.

Andrade's estate builds an international tourist center. The Mexicali-San Felipe highway was completed in 1951 & the 15-room Hotel Augies (later the Villa del Mar, Trucha Vagabunda and Las Palmas Inn) opened. In 1959, the motel El Cortés was opened for the public.

The source of income of San Felipe's (in descending order of importance) is tourism, shrimping and fishing.

The Valley of the Giants 100 yrs old natural reserve Cardon Cactus has become a major attraction of the giant specimens to Seville. The area has also become a favorite spot for photographers worldwide.

Tourism San Felipe is a popular spring break spot for residents of the Western U.S. states and northern Mexico because of all adventures availability& facilities. Nightclubs, bars dot & beaches are some visitors enjoy camping on the beaches or off-roading on ATV and dirt bikes in the adjacent desert.

SUMMARY: San Felipe now established as an International Tourist place. Now for the Tourists & the people there are several hotels, camp sites, parks, pools fishing, sporting; golf, volleyball is located at La Ventala del. One way race is another attraction from Mexicali to San Felipe at the end season especially for the visitors.
