Fashion Photographer, Rodolfo Michel, is no stranger to the lens. He has spent thousands of hours in a darkroom, starting his photography career as an assistant. Now Rodolfo Michel has his very own production company, Abstract Lion Productions. He photographs spreads for flexi shoes, which allows him the opportunity to travel to fashion hot spots. Permanently stationed in Los Angeles, Rodolfo Michel considers traveling for work a huge part of his life and his destinations include the most fashionable of cities. Milan, Paris, Sao Paulo, and Tokyo, are a few places that Rodolfo Michel has visited recently. Rodolfo Michel has seen the geography of fashion, to say the least. Each scene is a breathtaking one. Beyond the glitz and glamour of the clothes, the models and prestige, the cities themselves are inspirational to Rodolfo Michel’s art. He has had the opportunity to meet people and explore beautiful cities, finding the majestic quality in each one. Milan, for example, is the second largest city in Italy and one of the most important cities in the fashion world. Milan has a history in fashion as rich as the textiles they produce. In 2009, the city was officially declared as “the fashion capital of the world.” Sao Paulo, the largest city in Brazil is also a city steeped in fashion and beautiful architecture. Rua Oscar Freire, in the Jardins neighborhood, is one of the most luxurious streets in the world. Rodolfo Michel fell in love with the architecture and photographed the city to use in his postcard series. Visiting theses places has been a gift for Rodolfo Michel. Being a fashion photographer has given him the ability to work in environments that enhances his artistic vision, adding to the quality of his work. Geography is more than just a backdrop for Rodolfo Michel’s photos; they are also part of his vision. Sources: www.fashionphotographyblog.com www.flickrista.com
