Polyurethane is an extremely versatile elastomer used in countless applications worldwide. Urethane products deliver lots of advantages over other elastomers and plastics - it is stronger, tougher, more durable, and more versatile. Polyurethane's mechanical properties can be adjusted thru chemistry, which creates a number of unique opportunities to solve problems with performance characteristics unequaled in any other material. It's a better value than parts made with other materials, because they often crack, break, tear, swell, abrade, and deteriorate. As a result, they can damage and slow down your business operation. Common Applications of Cast Urethane: • Towline Protectors Ureguard Towline Protectors are installed on tow lines to protect more important or valuable gear from being damaged by rubbing. Uregaurd Towline Protectors are made of a durable castable polyurethane 95A durometer, which will outlast conventional marine chafing gear or marine chafing boards. The tapered ends of the marine Towline Protectors act as bearings which prevent premature lines parting and lost tows. • Polyurethane Rollers Examples include: Hourglass Rollers or V Rollers, Conveyor Belt Rollers, Pipe Conveyor Rollers, Sheave Rollers, Paper Mill Rollers & Etc... Rollers can be made of many different thicknesses, sizes, colors and hardness from shore 10A to 80D. • Polyurethane Coated Forklift Pads Forklift pads are steel shoes made to fit the customer’s forklift blades and are coated with a 3/4" thick durable, castable urethane. These pads prevent damage to coated pipe or any painted material being lifted by forklifts. This can save you time and money on costly repairs. • Polyurethane Pipe Spacers Pipe Spacers are made of durable castable Polyurethane. Spacers can be made for pipelines, pipe transportation, and pipe storage. They are excellent for underwater pipelines when pipes need to be a certain distance from each other or for underground pipelines or just for stacking pipe in a yard. • Custom Molded Urethane Products Custom molded Urethane products are used in a broad range of industry applications including farm equipment, Oil & gas industry, valves, electrical distribution, railroad, heavy truck, and a variety of automotive applications. • UreGuard VIV™ Strakes MARK Tool & Rubber was one of the first companies to develop elastomeric strakes for VIV, working with Shell Development in the 1980s. MARK’s UreGuard VIV Suppressor Strakes are molded from a marine-grade polyurethane and can be protected with a foul-release coating to prevent marine growth. The UreGuard VIV System is banded to the pipe using a pre-cut Smart Band Hybrid strapping system and seals and can be applied both offshore or onshore. The strakes break up the current path, shedding the vortices away from the pipeline, thereby controlling VIV and preventing eddies. • Rotational casting The latest technology in Rotational casting or Roller Lagging is a high-speed application procedure for applying a hybrid urethane which changes all the rules. It is not necessary to build molds for each roller casting. The new application procedure eliminates costly tooling expense. Rotational casting can be a great answer for lots of application. • Pipe Line Supports The corrosion-related cost to the transmission pipeline industry is approximately $5.4 to $8.6 billion annually. One of the most common corrosion problems on a pipe line is where pipe supports interface with the pipe. Pipe Supports are made of a durable castable polyurethane 90D durometerare; and can be adjusted to multiple size of pipe. The biggest advantage of this system is that it can be removed from the pipeline without picking the pipe line up for maintenance painting. Cast Urethane
