An Introduction People love to play with guns and other weapons such as swords and bow and arrows. In the ancient times, men faced many dangers and needed to remain in practice with weapons of their time. This gave rise to many games and sports that we play today. We observe sports such as fencing, shooting; archery and horse riding have all appeared due to the need of people in the middle ages. These days, we see the use of weapons that deliver deadly effects and cannot be safely used to the presence of explosives and firearms. People love the recreational aspect of modern weaponry but want to remain away from the dangers of real guns. In such an atmosphere, Airsoft Guns provide a nice path for people who want to enjoy playing with guns yet require the safety as not to hurt or wound others or themselves during playing or practicing. Airsoft Sniper Rifles are commonly used by airsoft enthusiasts. Police training academies have also started heavy usage of airsoft weapons due to their safe and imitating nature of real weapons. There are replicas of all famous models of real guns available such as the M1 Garand, the Carbines and other battle rifles and submachine guns as Airsoft Guns. Simple spring loaded guns are used as Cheap Airsoft Rifles. These are very inexpensive and can easily be upgraded if one wants to put them to serious usage. Firing Velocities Generally Airsoft Sniper Rifles use spring loaded firing mechanisms. These guns use the Elastic Potential Energy of a compressed spring which is released when the trigger is pulled. These guns are very robust and do not require any outer power component. These guns do not require an electrical battery or gas cylinder for power and can easily be used in extreme weather conditions where electric motors and gas mechanisms find it difficult. High quality Airsoft Sniper Rifles can have extreme pellet velocities reaching nearly 1000 ft/s but these will be gas powered usually. Simple Airsoft Rifles will still have more than 300 ft/s which are enough for most situations such as training or playing skirmish matches with friends. Spring powered sniper rifles have the intermediate power range between the electric and gas powered sniper rifles. They are usually selected for people taking part in marksmanship competitions at airsoft tournaments. Constraints There are some restrictions in some countries regarding the use and keeping of airsoft weapons. You must first ensure that you are allowed to buy and keep an airsoft weapon by consulting your local authorities. Spring loaded guns need to be recoiled after every shot and therefore quick operation is generally not possible unless in some shotgun style weapons. These guns do not have semi-automatic or automatic modes due to the lack of loading mechanism. Usually these guns have a lower service life due to continuous tension on moving parts such as the spring and cocking mechanism. Many upgrades are available however these days to increase the life cycle expectancy of these Airsoft Rifles. Low end spring guns are the cheapest among all airsoft weapons and commonly available at all local departmental and recreational stores.
