The Rocky Mountain chapter of myTeamTriumph provides athletic ride along programs for children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities that would otherwise prevent them from being able to experience road racing and triathlons. (Newswire.net -- July 15, 2013) Denver, Colorado -- The Rocky Mountain chapter of myTeamTriumph, a nonprofit organization providing athletic ride along programs for disabled children, teens, adults and veterans has announced that they will be particpating in the Donor Dash 5K race. The Donor Dash is being held on Sunday, July 21st, in Denver's Washington Park. It is a run/walk being held in honor of those who have donated organs or tissues, to celebrate the lives of recipients, and also those who continue to wait for an organ or tissue transplant. This July's run/walk marks the program's 14th annual event. Proceeds from this race will go to the Donor Alliance. According to Donor Alliance, their "mission is to save lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation." They provide athletic ride along programs for those of all ages with disabilities that would otherwise prevent them from being able to experience road racing or triathlons. MyTeamTriumph provides everything participants need to complete a race, including boats, harnesses, trailers and chairs. Their contributions enable disabled people of every age to enjoy the exhilaration and sense of accomplishment from finishing a race or triathlon. The mission of the Rocky Mountain chapter of myTeamTriumph is to "enhance the health and well being of individuals with disabilties by fostering lasting, authentic relationships through the teamwork environment of endurance athletics. Susan Golicic, the nonprofit's president, says the race experience for these athletes is nothing short of amazing. "You'll never see a bigger smile on a child's face" than when they come through the finish line, she says, hearing the cheers of onlookers and feeling the incredible sense of achievement. The Rocky Mountain chapter of myTeamTriumph expects to be represented by about 25 people at the upcoming race. Teams are led by "Captains", who are assisted by "Angels", or volunteer racers, whose mission it is to get the Captains across the finish line. myTeamTriumph relies on donations from generous supporters to continue providing exceptional experiences to disabled racers.
