There are different types of receipt printers are used for printing receipts and bills. A receipt printer is a high-speed device capable of printing 150 to 220 lines per minute, by using a dot matrix printer or by imprinting a roll of standard receipt paper (adding machine tape) or a heat-sensitive paper with a date-time stamp, toll amount, toll lane and plaza identification, and facility name or log. Miami receipt printers can be incorporated in ACMs; however, they tend to slow the processing rate. Therefore, they are not used at high-volume facilities. Patrons who need a receipt are encouraged in advance by overhead signs to use attended full- service lanes. The receipt printer interfaces directly with the toll terminal or ACM and the lane controller by communication links. Receipt printers come in many variations and with many different capabilities. They have a wide range of connection methods as well including parallel, serial and USB, which make it possible to have both a receipt printer and a system printer on the same computer. These printers work without fail forever. These printers require 3 inch wide paper roll. It will print in both black for positive and red for negative numbers and automatically cut the paper. Dot matrix or impact receipt printers have a low initial price and print on two-ply carbonless paper, but they’re noisy and print more slowly than other printers. They also require ribbon changes and have a shorter product life overall. Starting price of this type of printers would range around $229. Thermal Miami receipt printers are generally quiet and fast, with dark printing that doesn’t fade like dot matrix printers. The downside of this printer is that two-ply printing is not an option, although the printer can usually be programmed to print two receipts. Graphic quality, if you want to put your logo or other image on receipts, is good. Starting price of this type of printers would range around $229. Barcode label printers- Direct thermal and thermal transfer are the common types of barcode printers. Direct thermal uses thermal labels without ribbons. The labels are more likely to be damaged from the elements, and there are limits in the types of labels that can be used. Generally speaking, thermal transfer printers arc a better bet. Thermal transfer printers use a wax and/or resin ribbon that allows the print to be transferred to a wider variety of label types, such as vinyl. These can be much more durable, even in harsh environments. Starting price of this type of printers would range around $350.
