Our forefathers had minimal needs; they hunted, ate berries plucked from bushes, trekked to the nearest lake for water and defended themselves from enemies using primitive methods. The locomotives are equally varied; there are steam locomotives, diesel, petrol and even electric trains on display. MOTAT as it is fondly known by the volunteers who are involved in the development and conservation of the museum are governed by the MOTAT Act that was enforced in the year 2000. Since its inauguration in 1964, MOTAT has expanded and extended its wings. The subsection known as MOTAT 1, has buses, trolleys, fire engines, trams, trains, carriages and vintage traction engines, while MOTAT 2 which was introduced some years later showcases aviation related exhibits.
