Exploring The Ideals Of Mindful Meditation

One of the principle teachings of Buddha is the noble eight fold path that can help person reach enlightenment. Mindfulness (Sati in Pali) is one of the aspects of the path (“Right Mindfulness”). It is also one of the seven factors of enlightenment. Hence, it is by following the Buddhist ideals of meditation that one would be able to achieve the highest order of excellence.

What Is Mindfulness Meditation?

Mindfulness refers to being in the state where you are aware of your present and the different mental phenomena arising such as pleasant feelings or thoughts as well as the opposites, unpleasant ones. When these mental phenomena arise, instead of resisting or suppressing it, the person observes them without attachment. All phenomena, whether physical or mental, are impermanent in nature. This is the reason the skillful meditator observes them with loving kindness and sans attachment. Meditation is one of the different ways in which one can cultivate mindfullness. As per Buddhist perspective, when you are in harmony with both positive as well as negative thoughts or feelings arising in you, you can achieve the ideals of mindfulness meditation. Following are some ways in which you can enjoy the true essence of mindfulness meditation and bring peace to the mind. Self Restraint

All of us go through turmoil of different emotions. It is up to us to keep the emotions in check. It is important to keep the emotions under control by simply observing them. Life will put us through different situations and so one should be willing to keep the negative emotions in control. If you have a lot of negative energy flowing around you, your mind will not be at peace. When negativity feels like overbearing, you have to practice the art of self restraint and you must be able to control the thoughts that cloud your mind; simply be aware and refrain from acting out of it. On the other hand, a person who is surrounded with the right belief and positive thoughts is much more likely to cherish the flow of peace. The meditator also practices awareness of the positivity without attachment knowing that this state will not last as well.

Seek The Answers

Mindfulness meditation differs from the general definition of meditation in the sense that it is a mental state where you have profound knowledge of the deep. You are in tandem with the law of the universe and you can have an idea of how your existence can help in bettering the world. Hence, it is one of the highest forms of meditation. The Buddhist perspective of mindfulness meditation involves seeking the answers to the mystery of life. Life has a lot of unsolved mysteries and questions and one should be willing to find the right answers for the same. You may have to dive into your inner conscience and gradually start to understand the road to enlightenment. So, try to find the basis answers of life. Mindfulness meditation helps to work the right way in which you can get some basic answers to some of the biggest questions of life.

Purify Your Mind

If you are looking to seek enlightenment, you have to purify your thoughts from within. As long as you are obsessed and attached with quantifiable tools of success, it is not possible to seek enlightenment. Enlightenment is not about being at the top, but it is a journey of knowing it all. One needs to be blessed with pure thoughts for the sake of reaching the zenith of enlightenment. As per Buddhist principles, mindfulness meditation is one of the key steps that can help you make the journey come true. So, you need to purify and cleanse your mind by being developing simple awareness of various thoughts and emotions running through us daily. You need to set clear goals and focus on them. Do not let your mind be clouded by thoughts of materialistic pursuit.

Nature And Peace The power of nature is immense. Though not compulsory, it is advisable that you practice meditation by sitting in the quietness of the atmosphere for long hours. Let the fresh air surround you and breathe the natural beauty. You can feel a strong sense of calmness and natural power build around you. It is in the presence of nature and its beauty that you can truly start the journey of enlightenment. Once you have mastered the art, you would be able to enjoy the same level of concentration even in the buzz of a city. However, as a novice, look for peaceful environment in the lap of nature and meditate daily to find the answers and calling of your soul. Hence, these are the main ideals of mindfulness meditation and it can help you in attaining enlightenment. Enlightenment is a state of mind where you are blessed with profound knowledge and you gain mastery over the law of life. It is going to be an uphill task but by implementing the ideals of mindfulness meditation, you can hope to achieve true enlightenment of mind.
