Summer is almost over and soon Labor Day weekend will be here. The weekend is a big travel holiday and the Grand Canyon buses will be operating on their usual schedule then. It would be a great time to take a motor coach tour and see the sights in the region. It is a quick day trip from Vegas and it gives you the chance to take a break from the neon and bustle of the Strip. Book Early Since holidays are so busy at the Grand Canyon, there is a good chance many of the bus tours will sell out early. So book ahead to lock in your seats. It is a good idea to get them at least a week early. I don't have any hard facts, but demand usually goes up during holidays so Labor Day tours will probably cost more than non-holiday trips. However, there are ways you can save. In fact, you will find the lowest rates online. But you must go to the right site. Don't bother with one of the big travel broker sites. Rather than do that, book on the tour company's website. Since they are the ones that own the tours they can offer you a low price unmatched by anyone trying to make a commission. Road Trip If you take a bus tour to the Grand Canyon from Vegas, be prepared to depart at 7 a.m. sharp. They're all-day experiences: if you take a South Rim tour, you'll get back to your hotel around 9 p.m. and West Rim tours arrive back at the Strip an hour or so earlier. Which is the best rim to go to? The South Rim is good if you want to see a lot of beautiful natural formations. It is higher than the West Rim at 7000 feet, so it is a little cooler during the summertime. Plus, you can add an exciting rim-to-rim helicopter flight to your tour! On the other hand, choose the West Rim if excitement and adventure get your pulse racing. There are lots of fun things to do there including the thrilling Grand Canyon Skywalk, which just happens to be the biggest glass cantilevered bridge on the planet! West Rim Of The Grand Canyon Another benefit of going to the West Rim is it's the only place in the National Park where you can take a chopper flight down to land on the floor of the canyon. Plus, you can take a raft ride down the Colorado River once you get there! Tours like this are a great way to explore the canyon from top to bottom. Most coach tours are all-inclusive, meaning the price includes complimentary Strip hotel shuttle service, lunch, and Park taxes and fees. These tours are much less stressful than trying to drive yourself, all you have to do is relax and enjoy the ride. The buses themselves are luxurious, modern and comfortable. The buses have restrooms onboard along with plasma TVs, great climate control, and even reclining seats. They also have upgraded suspensions. This ensures a smooth ride, even on the unpaved road portion of your trip. To Summarize Labor Day is just around the corner. Bus tours of the Grand Canyon will probably sell out then since so many people will be traveling that weekend. Save money by getting your seats online and be sure to book early. If you want stunning beauty, go to the South Rim and if you want adventure, go to the West Rim. Both are fantastic, so you can't make a wrong choice!
