If you visit Apple’s website and look up the iPad mini, you’ll see that Apple pegs it with the slogan “every inch an iPad.” Though not as quick as the 3rd and 4th gen iPads, its miniscule size that brings convenience could pretty much rival its counterpart and other competing tablets. Just think of all the benefits of a standard iPad – the apps, the label, the camera and the likes – with the slight difference of lighter and thinner version and you get the iPad mini. A shrunken iPad Though the iPad mini is priced higher than other tablets, what’s great about this is the established App store where apps meant for the iPad are compatible with the mini gadget. You can bring it to business conferences, go social, take photos, or entertain yourself without the awkwardness of holding it with two hands. Plus, it’s an Apple gadget, do I need to say more? The gadget is 5.3 inches wide and 7.9 inches tall, which is in between the 7-inch and bigger tablets. Aside from the size and cheaper price, it’s pretty much a shrunken version of an iPad. It has the same 10-hour battery life, aluminum body, A5 processor and storage options. It also boasts the pre-Retina Display resolution with 1024 x 768 resolution. It’s also not behind techie fashion with lots of iPad mini parts and accessories that are available to make it a “hip” add-on device to your ensemble. Size matters Those fawning over the iPad mini would say that the best thing about it is that they can hold it in one hand – something that is impossible with its bigger counterpart. Though not as handy as the iPhone or iPod touch, it being an on-the-go computer already makes it a favorable device. You can keep it in your bag without thieves realizing you have a high-tech device with you, or in your jacket pocket where you can bring it anywhere you go without inconveniencing you. It’s also, no doubt, a light device, and thinner compared to smaller 7-inch tablets in the market. This means that you can experience everything a tablet can give you --- reading, watching videos, playing games, going social – in the most ideal screen size and weight that work well with long hours of using it. So, if you’re the type of person who just needs a handy device that does not require the full power of a portable computer, perhaps Apple’s baby can work well with you.
