If you are thinking about where to go on your next vacations you might read this article. We’re going to write about two beautiful travel destinations: in Indonesia, Bali and Gili Islands, and in Thailand, Phuket and Lanta Island. In Thailand Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand and one of the most popular travel destinations in the world. Whether you are interested in water sports, relaxing on the beach, shopping, nightlife and more, you’ll find it in Thailand. If you’re looking for a peace and quiet on a beautiful tropical island then you should go to Lanta Island, also called Koh Lanta. You can take ferry from Phuket to Koh Lanta and enjoy beautiful scenery of the Andaman Sea on the way. In Indonesia The Gili Islands are Lombok's most sought-after tourist destination. Gili Trawangan is both the largest and the most visited island of the archipelago. Tourists also refer to it as the 'party island'. The closest one to Lombok is Gili Air. Between these two islands, you can find Gili Meno. If you are looking for a Bali to Gili Islands ferry, you should know that there are several options you can choose from - some ferries will get you there faster, but a quick trip will cost you more, whereas slow ferries may take anywhere from 10 to 12 hours to reach the Gili Islands from Bali. Nevertheless, this is the cheaper alternative. From Bali to the Gilis The quickest way to get from Bali to the Gili Islands is by fast boat and all of these direct travel services continue onto Lombok. Local boat services depart daily from the port of Benoa and the Seragan Island to the South of Bali. If you are staying in East Bali, you can also choose a fast boat service from Padang Bai or Amed. You will find both fast and slow ferry services in these places. Ferry Tickets It is easy to contact fast boat and ferry companies either by phone or online. However, of you are not sure which travel company suits your needs best, you should talk to one of the many local travel agents. Depending on whether you choose a slow or a fast service, prices range from $55 to $80 one way. If you want to return to Bali after spending a couple of days on one of the marvelous Gili Islands, be prepared to pay more, as return tickets for a Bali to Gili Islands ferry cost anywhere from $99 to $150. However, you can get cheaper offers with slow ferries that travel by night - some of these services cost less than $30. Be warned, though, as the quality and safety of these vessels is questionable. Useful Crossing Tips If what you want is a shorter crossing, you can take a ferry from Padang Bai. If your voyage to the Gilis starts here, it will take around half as long when compared to a southern departure site. Nonetheless, if you are sea-sick, make sure you check the local weather forecast first, as an agitated sea could ruin your trip. If such crossings do not scare you - and they really should not - you can choose to get a night-time Bali to Gili Islands ferry. Ferries depart well after midnight from Padang Bai and you will arrive in Lembar the next morning. From there you will have to take a bus to Bangsal Harbour where you can take a public boat to the Gili Islands. This slow ferry option is not meant for you, if you are not patient or if you do not have any spare time. On the other hand, it is the ideal way to get from Bali to the Gilis, if you are on a budget. To sum it all up, these are the best ways to travel from Bali to the Gili Islands by ferry. Keep in mind that slow ferries usually travel by night and the costs are considerably lower than traveling by speed boat. Regardless of which type of transfer you opt for, you can really enjoy these rides, as traveling by ferry is nothing like your usual inland journey.
