Q: How to operate a metal detector? A: Generally speaking, there are 4 main steps to operate a metal detector. Firstly, turn on the power switch. The "click" sound indicates that the power switch is connected while the green light lights up. However, if the green light is not bright, it means the battery is not installed or the battery connection is bad. Moreover, if the sound is continuous or the detecting tool vibrates in succession, it means that the battery can not be used and a new one should be applied to replace it. Secondly, choose the alarm modes. If you would like the detector to alarm in voice, you can choose the sound switch. Or you can press the vibration switch to make the detector give out reminding information through vibration. Besides, some metal detectors are with only one button indicating voice or vibration. Thirdly, do high sensitivity test. After turning on the power, you can grip the handle and make the detecting disc parallel to the ground. When metal objects including small-size and large-size objects are detected, the detector will give out an alarm in voice or vibration. Meanwhile, instead of green light, the red one will light up. After you stop inspecting, the alert will stop and the green light will light up. Fourthly, make low sensitivity test. Supposing you want to exclude the small hardware, you can press the low sensitivity switch. In this case, you are capable of find out relatively large-size metals. And as for the alarm modes and light color change, they are the same as the high sensitivity’s. 4. Q: What are the precautions when using a metal detector? A: First of all, remember to turn off the switch after using it. Second, do take out the battery when you do not use the detector for a long time. Third, the power switch should be turned off when charging. Fourth, there is no sound or vibration when the probe is fixed on the metal. Only when the probe is swept over the metallic substances, the sound or vibration will give out.
