Removing window decals from windows can be a tough task if you don't have the correct equipment for the job. However, whether your decals have been forever etched into the windows of your vehicle or simply baked onto your child's bedroom window, complete removal of them is a simple and easy task once you are prepared. Fortunately, more than one solution exists for the proper removal of a sticky decal or two. Natural Solutions If the decal hasn't been on the window for too long, clean water and a dull putty knife may be all that is need for the task. Wet the decal and allow the moisture to do its magic for a moment or two. Use a clean rag to sponge the water on or purchase one of the small spray bottles readily available in garden centers, home improvement stores, discount stores, or even the cosmetics area of most stores. Once the water has soaked into the decal, gently scrap it away using the putty knife. If you have any difficulty or resistance at all, it is best to stop and go to the next natural method of removal before continuing. Decals that have been on the window for a while are removed more easily using white vinegar. Simply soak the decal with white vinegar using a small spray or mist bottle. A clean rag or sponge can also be used to sponge the water onto the decal. However, it is best to squeeze the sponge or rag out thoroughly to avoid unnecessary dripping. Once the vinegar has soaked into the decal, gently scrape it away using the putty knife. If you have any difficulty or resistance at all, it is best to stop and allow the vinegar to soak in more thoroughly before continuing. If the decal does not seem to be wet enough at this point, add another dose of white vinegar to it. Commercial Solutions Decals on the window are easily removed using WD-40. Spray the decal evenly with the WD-40, being careful not to spray any on you, the curtains, or the window. Use a clean cloth to wipe the WD-40 off the decal and it should peel off the window. If necessary, urge it along with the putty knife. Another option for removing window decals easily is to spray it with a commercial adhesive remover. If the decal is on your car window, then be sure to purchase a commercial adhesive remover designed specifically for cars. You can usually purchase this at most auto parts or discount stores. Most likely, you will spray the decal or sticker with the remover and wipe it off with a clean cloth. The sticker should easily come up from the window. Catalytic Converter Scrap Metal Companies
