The Power tools fields in the UAE worth about $1mn many enterprises are eyeing the top spot to capture the businesses A power tool markets in the UAE consist of products such as the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) tools. With these tools being used in a variety of commerces or household activities the trades players are looking to enhance the products for the user friendliness, ergonomics. Even with the industries not being affected in the 2008-09 world’s recession but quite the contrary has been growing from leaps and bounds. With this steady increase the Dubai Hardware and Tools exhibition held in the year 2009 displayed all different types of DIY products helping in the growth of the Power tools productions in the UAE. The reason behind the industry not being affected in the recession was that people were busy decorating their own house instead of moving house due to the credit crunch as explained by a German magazine. People’s interest towards DIY products also grew as cost of labour during recession was growing higher by the day. As the increasing trend in DIY products was evident, dealings players, big brands or newly growing brands ceased the opportunity to showcase their products and get a better grip of the corporations ranging from Easy Automotive tools to Gardening and small household tools. Economic Logistic cost is set to boom the DIY industry furthermore with the introduction of Construction Hardware Products designed for easy installation and maintenance would make the industry even more popular among the masses. With an average growth level of 27 percent a German DIY Giant is set to sweep the UAE Power tools ventures with its products generating almost Dh7.35bn in annual revenues. The company’s Managing Director for the Middle East says that they are planning to expand their product range and the after sales services in UAE with the increasing popularity as he feels that the customers should not be neglected after the sale of the products but a strong relationship to be built between the company and the customers. He also adds saying that the company should be known for its reliability by bending to the needs of the customers. DIY Tools do require an extra skill to operate as they can be dangerous to any non-skilled person operating them. For example a Drill needs to be used with care. Aimed at the people of UAE who have never used a DIY instrument before, representatives from another DIY German Competitor were present at DIY Megastores in the UAE educating people to use the machines. Not only for the people who do not know how to use the machines but the schemes of power tools in UAE also makes tailor made solutions for skilled workers helping them develop their fields
