Most folks believe that is costs a lot of money to eat healthy foods. While this is not entirely a myth, as healthy foods do tend to cost more than junk foods, it's also a matter of where you choose to spend your money. For instance, when you buy take out foods like hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, etc.; you are essentially spending about the same amount as you would have cooking a wholesome supper at home. Just as guilty are the ones who load up on tons of junk food at the store and do not give nutrition even a thought. Your thoughts need to be realigned a bit in order for you to realize that you can spend practically the same amount and eat foods that actually have some value to them. Very often you can make healthier eating choices simply by preparing more food at home rather than going out. In our busy lives, it's so easy to run by a fast food place for dinner, but those foods are so much higher in the areas you don't want in your diet. You have the ability to add or subtract ingredients when you prepare meals at home. You can choose to use sugar substitute rather than real sugar, for example. It will also save you money to cook more. If you are a busy person, you might try cooking multiple servings of one meal and freezing some for later in the week. You could do some cooking on a Sunday night, for example, and have several meals ready for the coming week. Most knowledgeable folks claim that by cooking your veggies, you are losing some of the nutrition; hence raw veggies are much more nutritious anyway. There are raw foods diets that suggest eating nothing but raw foods, but this is an extreme that most people aren't going to go to. Actually, it is not crucial to maintain a 100% raw food intake to receive maximum nutritional health. There are loads of foods that are delicious when eaten raw, such as fruits, vegetables, many nuts and seeds and the list goes on and on. Some raw foods diets also allow raw animal products, including cheese, milk and even meat and fish (though you have to be careful when it comes to raw meat). Raw foods are not considered cooked until they have been heated above 104 degrees. A healthy diet will soon help you become a much healthier person, motivating you to keep eating in a nutritious way. The main challenge will be on those that eat too much high fructose and carbohydrate foods, something they will have to get used to not eating overtime.
