Having a double chin is one indication that you are gaining weight. This is why the natural thing to do once you notice a second chin developing under your jaw line is to lose weight. However, shedding off the excess pounds sometimes is not enough in removing that loose skin under your chin. Just sit straight on a chair and raise your head so that you are facing the ceiling. Now purse your lips as you would if you were kissing someone. Hold that position for five seconds and then release. Repeat this for about ten times. 2) Work the Platysma The platysma is the muscle that runs from your jaw line down to your shoulders. Working out this muscle will help tone the skin under your skin. To exercise this area, open your mouth as wide as you can. Then tighten your lower lips over your lower teeth. As you do this, you will feel the platysma muscle tighten. Now move your lower jaw up and down as if you are gnawing on something. Do this for 15 times or longer. 3) Neck Exercise Doing a neck roll will also stretch the skin under your chin. To do this, turn your head to the left until your chin is above your left shoulder. Now slowly roll down your neck until your chin rests at the center of your chest. Move your head up to the right this time and then roll back to the center. Repeat this for 10 to 15 times. Use Firming Lotions Aside from exercises, you can also massage some firming lotion on your neck and under your jaw line. To make this work, you have to be extra meticulous with the lotion you choose. It should contain natural tightening oils such as jojoba oil, grape seed oil, and avocado oil. -Avocado oil boosts the production of collagen, which tightens and lifts the skin. This oil is very effective because its small molecules are easily absorbed by the skin, so it penetrates and do wonders from within. -Grape seed oil is also very good for tightening the skin, plus it has an anti-aging property so you can bring back the youthful glow of the skin, fighting away wrinkles and improving skin tone. -Jojoba oil also has tightening and firming properties, which is why it is often seen as an ingredient in facial creams as well as creams that target stretch marks. Aside from their tightening effect, these oils are great moisturizers too, so you can expect an improvement on your skin’s texture as well. All in all, by mixing diet, exercise, and firming lotions, you will be able to get rid of that pesky double chin and look young and thin again.
