Since the introduction of escalators in 1899, these markets have been able to withstand in the market in spite of the heavy competition due to their continuous invention of new reliable and economical products that assures safety. These days, escalators are tailor made to match the interior of a building. The exterior cladding ranges from stainless steel, glass to metal which are fully customised. Eco-friendly escalators are given preference in UAE attributing to save energy on a large scale. commerces provide Eco-packs which could be fitted to old escalators to produce modernized solution. This has been an attractive offer for the customers as they have to invest only a small amount to save a lot of energy. Different aspects should be considered to meet the customer needs when it comes to escalators. The after sale service provided is a key factor in this. Recently there was a mishap at the Sharjah airport, where a 9 month old baby died. The baby had fallen from his mother’s arms on the escalator. The baby sustained several injuries and later died. This has created a great havoc in the public places where escalators are being used. This issue has made many escalators trades to come up with much safer products. And the government has introduced a new certifying scheme to avoid accidents. customers purchasing escalators are expected to take safety measures by employing fully trained individuals to maintain and service the escalators on a daily basis.
