Kyiv is the city of 1500 years history so it’s obvious that there are numerous historical attractions on the city. One of the main and most famous attractions is Kiev Pechersk lavra- a glorifying and beautiful mini city in the center of the mega polis. Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is one of the first of the founding of monasteries in Russia. Lavra was founded in 1051 by Yaroslav the Wise and monk Antony, a native of Lubech. Co-founder of Pechersk Monastery was one of the first students Anthony - Theodosius. At first, the monks lived in caves dug, and later when underground space could not house all community - began to build the first above-ground construction.
