Pass your needle or twisted wire up through the hood and out the incision to collect the leader. 3. Pull the leader through to the head end and attach the hook. 4. Pass the point of the hook through the back of the squids head and out between its eyes then tuck the hooks shaft up under the hood and gently apply tension to the line, removing and slack. 5. Take a length of wire, passing it up through the hood. At the tail make a loop by passing the wire back down through the hood and bringing it back out through the original entry at the tail. 6. Lay the wire ends back along the leader and twist the shorter of the two ends firmly around both the other wire end and the leader. 7.
