Some people are disappointed when they want to take a bus tour of the Grand Canyon only to discover it is sold out. There are a few different reasons why these coach trips fill up fast. However, if you plan ahead, you won't have trouble getting the tour you want. As it turns out, timing is the main issue. You should count on tours selling out about 48 hours ahead of the departure time so you won't be taken by surprise. It gets even worse if you try to book the day before. This all-inclusive bus trip is popular because of its reasonable price and everything that comes with it like free hotel pick up and drop off, professional guide service, lunch and all Park fees and taxes. The tour includes all the details so all you have to worry about is bringing personal items like sunscreen, water, sunglasses, a cool long sleeved shirt, and a hat with a brim for sun protection. Be sure to dress for the season because the elevation at the South Rim is 7000 feet above sea level. That means it will be a little cooler there in the summer and it will be cold with snow during the winter. In comparison, the climate at the West Rim is a lot like it is in Vegas with very hot summers with temperatures up to 100 degrees and chilly, windy winters. The bus trip to the South Rim is an amazing deal, but West Rim bus trips are terrific too. There are more tours that go to the West Rim so it is easier to get a seat on a bus. Even so, don't delay too long when you're booking a West Rim trip, especially if you want the package that includes VIP access to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. The Skywalk is a marvel of construction that draws in visitors from around the world. It cost $30 million to build, most of it going toward the specially made glass panels that cost more than $250,000 each! When you walk out to the edge of the bridge, you will be 70 from the edge and 4000 feet above the canyon floor. As you can imagine, the views from the Skywalk are amazing. Don't waste time shopping around for your seats. Just go right to the tour company's website. There will have the best choices in tours and you will get the lowest prices available.
