No longer than three months after taking over at the helm of Manchester United there are dark stormy clouds already gathering over the prospective future of David Moyes. Though devoted Manchester United fans are still hopeful that the “Chosen One” will eventually guide them to glories just like his predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson. But this temperament could vanish very soon if the Red Devils are not able to show drastic signs of improvement in the next few games. My friend, Mr. Phoenix has already started celebrating Manchester United’s season of trophy drought. He is a devout Arsenal fan and the Gunners are at the moment sitting pretty at the top of the BPL. Is all gone? That is what an ardent Manchester United fan like me would want to know. Being Mark Brewer, who never loses hope of winning when it comes to seeing the Manchester United matches, I believe the Red Devils will definitely bounce back from the trashing they have received so far. The team has a lot of class to keep misfiring over a long period. Sir Alex has left behind some high caliber players as his legacy. Robin van Persie is facing problems with man-to-man marking, but he can end his goals drought any time. And once he does so, all the teams watch out. He is a true talisman with the ball in his feet. You give him a sniff of the goal and he will add the numbers to his already illustrious goal scoring record. When you couple that with Wayne Rooney’s new found form, they form a great pair for Manchester United. “May be the forwards should not be blamed for Manchester United’s fate so far” commented Mr. Oak last weekend. I agree to his opinion. Indeed they are getting least creative passes from the midfield. It seems that all of a sudden the likes of Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Nani, Morouane Fellaini and Tom Cleverly have become less potent. Their passes are looking meek and not very imaginative. I was also surprised at the number miss-kicks by the Manchester United players this season. Most of the shorts taken from distance were wayward and never bothered the opposition goalkeeper. Though Fellaini’s signing from Everton, in the recently concluded transfer window, was seen as a step forward but the Belgian star has still to show his real class in the Red jersey. “Manchester United’s weakest link is their defense” Mr. Phoenix had commented last season when we were watching a match together. This season their defense has been severely criticized for conceding easy goals. Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are aging and the signs are showing this season. The speed of the BPL is throwing a poor light upon their marking skills. If you ask me (Mark Brewer), I have to opine that: all of a sudden Manchester United seems to have lost their flair and a knack to score goals. Red Devils were never defensively sound, but they had a talent of scoring goals. This season their attacking power is looking little potent. David Moyes should realize very quickly that attacking is the best form of defense when it comes to a club like Manchester United. Mark Brewer i.e. I, would still keep silverware hopes for the season. Let Moyes settle in and maybe he can become a legend too.
