Core-wrapped Yarns – Core-wrapped yarns have a different fiber than that of the core and are wrapped with a metallic strip. A number of metallic embroidery yarns are of this type. Yarns Layered With A Strand Of Wire – Layered yarns are of regular construction only and are available in singles and plied. When a fine wire strand is twisted with the yarn thread, it is called plied yarn. These were types of Metallic Yarns. Next one needs to know some important points about the washing of Metallic Yarns in a washing machine. Core-wrapped yarns, which have a viscose core, can collapse because of their internal pressure. Yarns with both metal and fiber content can resist collapse to a certain limit but cannot withstand excessive pressure. Wires can form undulating waves after the finish.
