You can put your site in free web directory or paid web directory. Free are those in which you can put your site for free. But these take some time for your site to be shown in web directory. Paid web directories are those which require some amount to be paid by you in order to your site to be displayed in the web directory. Another kind of directory is Niche directory. In this type of directory only one particular type of information is contained. After you submit your site in, there are editors who check content of your site before displaying your site in web directory. Editors manually sort out in which category your site will be displayed. If you submit your website in search engines, you get more chance of being recognized by search engines. It helps in increasing your page rank. Webmasters who want link popularity should check whether directory is search engine friendly or not. You should choose which directory you want your site to be added. You should put your site in web directory which has high number of advertisements, number of outbound links within category, existence of sub categories and design of site. The content you put in your site should be original. If the content you put is original, it will help gain traffic inflow. You should update your content regularly. By putting your site in web directory, your search engine ranking is increased and your website will make benefit from sales.
