Do you want more forgiveness? Do you want to maximize distance? Do you want to be able to work the ball? I believe Ping golf can help you. I have found the discount Ping G15 driver and G20 drivers in the bags of random playing partners over the years. Today let's have a look at them.
Generally I have found that the game improvement drivers always seem to reward you with an awesome feeling…you look up and you have hit a snap hook that nose dives 100 yards off the tee. The G15 driver is engineered for golfers seeking a maximum forgiveness driver that delivers distance and accuracy. Its 460cc titanium head is longer front to back and features PING’s patented ultra thin crown technology.
My driver was fitted with the PING TFC 149D shaft in stiff flex. I headed right over to my home course and took the driver out for a spin. I did not even bother to hit up the range, just took it right on the course. Lucky for me, the loft and shaft seemed to fit my swing pretty decently. I ended up hitting about 70% fairways, which is well above average for me.
I can speak to how the G15 compares to discount Ping G20 Driver of the G line. The G20 is built with a titanium alloy that is lighter than most drivers, yet it is heavier than the G15. There is more weight towards the back of the club, and a lower center of gravity. This impacts the overall sound and feel of the club, as well as how the ball comes off the club.
With the Ping G20, calculated measures have been taken to make sure the ball comes off solid and online. They have adjusted the curvatures of the crown and sole to withstand the somewhat violent impact of a full on driver swing. So while most companies boast this enhance performance, the Ping G20 has real hard data to prove it can help mid to high handicaps hit it farther and straighter.
I can say that the G20 was neither more nor less accurate than my previous discount Ping G20 Pink Driver. I keep stats of my rounds and there wasn't a noticeable change in my driving accuracy. My total distance didn't improve much, if at all because my previous driver got a bit more roll because it was lower and even hotter than the G20. That isn't the ballflight I want any more though. I much prefer carrying the ball further because it gives me more options off the tee.
Overall, the G15 is slightly less expensive than some of the high tech. I'd say that my carry improved by about a solid 10 yards. I give the G20 a thumbs up because I'd much rather enjoy looking at the top of the club at address. Source from: http://www.golfdiscountau.com/article-661.html
