They have light-reflecting particles such as silica, mica, fish scales or synthetic pearl. These are generally available in lighter shades and are used for special occasions. They are more an evening wear kind of beauty product. • Long wearing- The one common problem with most lipsticks is that you need to retouch them over the course of the day. They simply wear off no matter how careful you. This is where the long-wear lipsticks come to the rescue. Some varieties are very drying and most of these lipsticks have a base and a gloss and have to be applied in two parts. The base generally contains silicone oil. This seals in the color. Once it has dried, the colorless coat has to be applied for the required shine. The gloss can be reapplied but the color will not have to be retouched. The base can be removed with a makeup remover. There are a few things that you should keep in mind while buying lipsticks. They should be of a good quality. When you walk into a store to buy lipsticks you will find some that are priced very low while others might be three times that price. On the face of it, they may all look the same. But the difference will be in the quality of ingredients that are used and also on how long the lipstick lasts.
