The place of Chettinad is located in The Sivaganga district of the south Indian state of Tamilnadu. The place of Chettinad is famous for its cuisines, architecture, and temples. Chettinad cuisines are the spiciest cuisines in South India. There are a number of different types of local cuisines that are available in Chettinad. Apart from cuisines the place is also famous for its architectures. The architecture over here is draws inspiration from the 18th century architectures. The common features of Chettinad architecture involve large mansions, spacious rooms, and wide courtyards.

Chettinad is also famous for its temples. The place of Chettinad has immense religious significance and the entire lifestyle of Chettinad revolves around the different festive occasions that are held in the temples of Chettinad. The people of Chettinad have a religious bent of mind and they are god fearing. They worship the different gods and goddesses and they offer their prayers and sacrifices to the god. The place of Chettinad is well connected by means of roads, railways and airways. The nearest airport is the Madurai airport and the Tiruchirappalli airport. The place is an important tourist hotspot and annually thousands of tourists visit this place to enjoy the beauty of this place. Because of the well connectivity this place draws tourists from the different parts of India as well as from the world. Apart from the many temples the place of Chettinad has, the place is also famous for its bio diversity and rich natural beauty. The flora and fauna of this place attracts millions of tourists to visit here on a yearly basis. To accommodate the tourists the place is well equipped with a number of different types of hotels and restaurants. Based on the type of tourists the hotels are classified as economy hotels or luxury hotels. However the hotels are well equipped to cater to the needs and requirements of the tourists. The hotels are known to provide quality food and service to the tourists. The food that is served in the hotel often includes local cuisines as well as Continental and Chinese cuisines. Some hotels also provide travel facilities to visit temples and places of significance in Chettinad.

The climate of Chettinad is very hot in summers and moderately cold during winters. In summers, that is from March to May the temperatures are very high and tourists therefore avoid this season. On the other hand the monsoons are from June to September and it is that part of the year when the rainfall is heavy and is therefore quite comforting as compared to the summers. Winters here are from December to February and are pleasant and so this part of the year is the best time to visit Chettinad. And in this part of the year the tourists spend their time watching scenic beauty, flora and fauna of the place as well as by visiting the pilgrimage sites in the temples. The tourism industry becomes very active here in this time of the year.
