The HP Colour LaserJet 2605 is designed to work with small offices and workgroups to the tune of a 35,000 page monthly duty cycle. It loves to stomp through ordinary office tasks and can handle colour output with ease, when needed. It is super flexible when it comes to the type of media it can handle, allowing labels and transparencies to be created without any headache and overall the running costs and purchase price, make this a valuable printer to add into the office. HP Colour LaserJet 2605 can be purchased in only one yield but these are moderate toners in line with the set monthly duty cycle. HP 2605dn toner for the black gives 2,500 page yield and then the cyan, magenta and yellow all offer 2,000 page yields. It is imperative someone in the office makes sure there is a constant supply of HP 2605 ink in the stock room, as the yields are not the highest, just in case someone needs to do a large print run. The standard paper capacity on this printer is only 250 sheets and unfortunately, this cannot be increased, as there is no provision for an extra paper tray. The machine takes a very standard and basic USB cable connection, which is helpful, as most people will have this connectivity to hand. The printer will only arrive with a power cable, so it is important to make sure this cable is available before the printer arrives. There are printer drivers for both Mac and PC hardware, which is ideal. There are a number of software tools added onto the disc that arrives with this machine. The print speeds are 12 pages for monochromatic printing and 10 pages per minute for colour. These speeds are perfectly adequate for the average print user who doesn’t have a high volume of work to get through every month. The resolution is 2400 dpi, which allows the colour print to look delightful. The processor is 300 MHz which works well with the additional memory, this printer can cope with. It has provisions for the standard 64 MB to be increased to 320 MB. This will help if the printer appears to be struggling with the size of some of the documents it is asked to print out.
